Strawberry tree or Arbutus berry is very diffused in mediterranean area and in particular in Southern Italy. Its bitter taste is dued to arbutina aparticular substance present only in that plant. It smell is a fresh fragrance similar to fresh not roasted coffee nuts. It is usually consumed on a slice of roasted Pecorino cheese.
